First frog spawn

I was right, I discovered two clumps of spawn in the pond today, one floating near the back and a small clump underwater at the front.
Two pairs of frogs are active near the submerged clump.

Frog courship

Some of the frogs are starting to pair up. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is spawn in the pond tomorrow.

Frogs love the rain

During the rainy weather more frogs have made it back to our pond. Difficult to count, but lots of splashes and ripples every time I go to the window.

First frogs in the pond

Frogs have now returned to our garden pond. My wife noticed 4 yesterday, croaking at full volume. By the time I got home from work it was dark and so I missed them. I took a look today and saw two. Unlike the sunny weather we had yesterday to day was cold, raining and windy.

At one point, 2 heads surfaced at the same time

Fox and sparrowhawk

The foxes were courting again last night. I caught a glimpse of them in the moon light as they disappeared up the track. Early morning and they were outside thew house again. The eventually walked along our boundary wall and disappeared into the gardens behind our house.

I watched a sparrow hawk circling above our garden, slowly moving south before flying off to the west.

I saw a sparrowhawk again, possibly same one. This time it was mobbed by some herring gulls and again disappeared off to the west.

Fox courtship

Although I was down with the flu and a chest infection, I heard a couple of foxes outside the front of the house
